Snoring Problem

Over a long passage of human history Snoring was considered to be a sleeping habit, habits that we have and do repeatedly while awake. It stayed as a habit for many people until it was researched and declared as a disease. Snoring is not only a disease but is also a source of many other diseases. It is very important for one to take precautionary measures to control and eliminate Snoring immediately. The problem with such patients is that they do not know that they are Snoring unless they have been told to. This is a real worry for people who live by themselves and have low chances of discovering that they are suffering from this problem. While conversely people who are living with their husbands / wives and girl friends / boy friends have social problems creeping in to their domestic life. Snoring does not only disturb the sleep of the person who is Snoring but also those who are living with them. In some cases it is so loud that you can hear it from another room and can’t help it.

People who snore are found to be complaining of tiredness as they do not get a peaceful sleep and even worse for those who are living with such patients. Employers are more reluctant to hire a snoring patient in to a workplace where tiredness may cause risks of safety like driving etc. Since snoring patients do not get a relaxed sleep it is obvious for them to lose focus.

According to a common observation people who are snoring have their mouth open while sleeping. It may be considered that the snoring patients open their mouth to breath due to blockage or narrowing of nasal passage way. Another reason could be the mouth being kept open by the patient when falling asleep. The second case suits those who snore occasionally.

A survey in Italy revealed that 24% of men while 13% of women are snoring patients. While the men to women ratio of snoring was 3 to 2 which is 60% for men and 40% for women in the age group of 60 to 65.

Some of the reasons explained for snoring patients are the weakening of throat which closes and blocks air passage while sleeping. It sounds more likely considering the fact that old people are more susceptible to snoring compared to younger ones. The miss-positioning of jaws can also cause snoring which is caused by tension in the muscles.
